Flying Swans will accelerate it by combining strong industry organisation and strategic TCL investments
Tanzania holds the potential to become a horticulture export powerhouse. With a strongly organised sector, supportive policy and geographical advantages, crops like avocado, peas and flowers can generate huge amounts of business and societal value. Flying Swans will support this development through the strategic development of temperature-controlled logistics facilities.
Like in other corridors, Flying Swans have developed a corridor vision (picture below) comprising multiple investments that leverage the existing infrastructure and production and can unlock the country's horticulture potential, starting with a hinterland consolidation facility.

Hinterland facilities are a key first step to providing market access to smale-scale horticulture farmers. To access valuable export markets, value chain services such as packing, grading and phytosanitary checks are required and logistics need to be arranged. Such facilities are difficult investments to make for smaller farmers. Flying Swans will develop a common-user facility that can provide these services to all farmers that need them.
