Colombia has for a long time been a major horticultural exporter (4th biggest producer worldwide in bananas, 2nd in cut flowers, 3rd in coffee) and has more recently been booming in avocadoes (already 3rd biggest producer). 

The shift of cut flowers from air- to sea freight and containerisation of reefer transport provide opportunities for the Netherlands, both for the horticultural industry as wel as port-logistics (Port of Rotterdam). Flying Swans will support this transition by developing a hinterland consolidation facility with rail connections.
